In general, the Super Bowl ticket market is volatile, and Super Bowl 53 is no exception.
Our sources in the ticket industry told us before the matchup was set that a Patriots-Rams Super Bowl would be the cheapest of the four options heading into championship weekend.
Why? Because Patriots fans obviously have had plenty of chances to go (this is their ninth Super Bowl in 18 years) and the Rams have the smallest fan base.
In the 72 hours since the AFC Championship Game ended, the get-in price for the Super Bowl has dropped roughly 21 percent to around $2,800.
As of Wednesday, Ticketmaster tells us that fans from California and Massachusetts are tied for their number of ticket purchases leading up to Super Bowl 53, each accounting for 13.6% of sales.
Meanwhile, 26.4% of tickets have been purchased by NFL fans based in the South (Louisiana, Florida, Georgia, Arkansas, etc.), with Florida residents leading the pack over Georgia.
