The Super Bowl has all sorts of funny prop bets that you can wager on. Some cringier props target Taylor Swift. Others the coin flip, Gatorade color or length of the national anthem.

Yet still, there's a prop bet on whether there will be an octopus for 49ers vs. Chiefs.

Another funky one is whether there will be a doink on a field goal during the big game.

A doink occurs when a kicker hits the crossbar or goal posts on an attempt — whether on a point after touchdown or a field goal.

It's a rare occurrence — but not as rare as one may think.

Last year, Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker — who, of course, will be competing this Sunday — hit the post on a 42-yarder during the Super Bowl.

That bet cashed at odds of roughly +460.

This season, those odds are much higher at +650.

Odds are available at FanDuel for Canadian residents located in Ontario.

This market was hosted at DraftKings last season, where roughly 96% of the total bets were on the "yes" market, which tracks. Super Bowl bettors aren't typically betting extremely short odds on things not to happen, which isn't exactly the most exciting method to wagering.

This year's odds at +650 imply a probability of about 13% that a doink will happen. Odds at -1000 imply a probability of roughly 91% that a doink won't happen.

If your own value assessment regarding those percentages are higher than the implied probability, you may have a betting edge.
