A slight betting upset on the field, a slight betting upset for Super Bowl MVP.

Tom Brady (+190) earned his fifth career Super Bowl MVP award in his seventh title win as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers took down the Kansas City Chiefs, 31-9.

Brady finished with 201 yards passing on 21-of-29 passing and three touchdowns. He did not turn the ball over.

It looked early on like tight end Rob Gronkowski may win the award as a +7000 longshot. He caught two touchdowns in the first half to go with six receptions and 67 yards. All three of those numbers led the team.

Leonard Fournette rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown.

Patrick Mahomes entered as the betting favorite, but the offense failed to muster a single touchdown — which you could've found at +1600 before the game. He was 26-of-49 for 270 yards and two interceptions.

It was almost all Buccaneers from the start, despite an early 3-0 lead for the Chiefs. Tampa Bay raced out to a 21-6 lead at halftime and never looked back.

Patrick Mahomes opened as the Super Bowl MVP betting favorite and his position has only gotten stronger in the two weeks leading up to the game.

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback opened as an even-money favorite (+100) to win the award, dropping to -106 in the hours before kick-off.

The Chiefs are favored by 3 in the game, so it's no surprise the quarterback of the projected winning team is the expected winner of the game's MVP. Tom Brady is +190 as he and Mahomes are in a tier of their own on the oddsboard.

Mahomes is looking to become the first back-to-back winner since Terry Bradshaw. Meanwhile, a win for Brady would be No. 5 of his career.

Quarterbacks have won 10 of the last 15 Super Bowl MVPs. Two of those five non-quarterback winners are defensive players; the other three players are wide receivers.
