It’s a Week 10 NFC South matchup tonight against the Panthers and Falcons, but this time in North Carolina at Bank of America Stadium.
Terrace Marshall has been the biggest beneficiary in the offense after the team traded away Robbie Anderson to the Cardinals. He started the season playing 93 snaps in the first six weeks of the season, but he's played at least 86% of snaps since Anderson was sent to the desert.
Walker targeted the second-year receiver nine times back in Week 8 against Atlanta, and I expect this to continue after D.J. Moore tore apart the Falcons defense, which could garner more attention his way.
The increased target share has allowed him to take over the role as the Panthers' No. 2 wide receiver, averaging a route in 96% of dropbacks. His matchup when P.J. Walker decides to air it out is a good one. The Falcons are the seventh-worst team for pass coverage, according to Pro Football Focus and will be missing their two best cornerbacks in A.J. Terrell and Casey Hayward. Atlanta also allows the second-highest completion percentage to opposing QBs, per TeamRankings.
According to sportsbooks, Walker projects to throw at least 21 times, so asking for three catches from a team’s second-best receiver is not asking much.
Meteorologists expect tonight’s game to be impacted by Tropical Storm Nicole’s remnants, but I think this may be a bit overblown with winds expected to be between 10-13 mph. A lower prop with weather concerns baked in and a player in a growing role that hasn’t accounted for makes me love taking the over for Marshall's props tonight.
