Update: The Texans have a 56% chance to make the NFL playoffs, according to Action Network's Predictive Analytics team. They enter Week 17 in a four-way tie for the last playoff spot. They likely will need to win out to secure a playoff berth and face the team ahead of them, the Indianapolis Colts in the final week of the season.

Update: The Texans have an estimated 53% chance to make the NFL playoffs entering Week 16. Their postseason hopes are tied up in the health of quarterback C.J. Stroud, who is still recovering from a concussion.

It’s hard to imagine things going worse for the Texans as they enter the home stretch. They not only lost a winnable game against the Jets last week, but suffered several injuries to significant players, most notably C.J. Stroud. The Rookie of the Year favorite suffered a concussion in Houston’s loss New York, and is doubtful to play against the Titans in Week 15.

Star wideout Nico Collins — who went over 1,000 yards on the year on his first catch last week – also went down against the Jets with a calf injury. His status is murky going forward. Meanwhile, Dalton Schultz has missed the last two games with a hamstring injury while Tank Dell is out for the year with a fractured leg.

The Texans have a 42% chance to make the NFL playoffs entering Week 15, according to Action Network's Predictive Analytics team. Nonetheless, this team controls it’s own destiny thanks to several tiebreakers and who they can potentially beat in the coming weeks.

The Texans have the advantage over Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and Denver, and can also earn it over Cleveland when they face the Browns in Week 16. They can also even out their head-to-head record with the Colts in Week 18 after falling to them earlier this season.
