As recently as Thursday afternoon, the Tennessee Titans were listed as 3.5-point road favorites against the Buffalo Bills. With Buffalo widely considered the worst team in the league, this was certainly a curious line.
The Action Network's Travis Reed even mentioned that Bet Labs' NFL simulations made Tennessee closer to a 7-point favorite in his Week 5 survivor pool analysis.
At least one respected bettor agreed with Reed's assessment, jumping on the Titans and driving this line up to -5.
Sports Insights' Bet Signals — which track sharp action across the sports betting market — triggered a Steam Move on Tennessee at 12:30 p.m. ET, coinciding with a line move to Titans -4 and eventually -5 about 10 minutes later.
DJ Fields, an odds consultant, confirmed that one of their sharp bettors came in for a six-figure bet, hitting Tennessee first at -3.5, then a second time at -4 (-115).
"The move was purely out of deference to one of our most respected players," Fields added.
Not only is respected money coming in on Tennessee, but the public has also been laying the points all week.
At the time of publication, 70% of tickets and 67% of dollars wagered on the spread are backing the road favorite.
