The Lions and Vikings made noise with a trade on deadline day, as tight end T.J. Hockenson was sent to Minnesota in exchange for a package of picks.
In return for Hockenson, the Lions got a 2023 second-round pick, a '23 fourth-round pick and a '24 fourth-round pick in addition to a conditional '24 fourth-rounder.
The newest member of the #Vikings: TJ Hockenson.
A huge deal, with the #Vikings sending a 2023 2nd rounder and a 2024 fourth rounder for Hockenson, a 2023 fourth rounder and a 2024 conditional fourth rounder. pic.twitter.com/ryxNrHzGP8— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) November 1, 2022
Hockenson has amassed 26 catches for 395 yards and three touchdowns on the season, and the former Iowa man is a very dangerous player to deal with in the red zone.
So, what does this mean for other players on the Vikings and Lions? How should you look at this move from a fantasy perspective? Here's what our experts have to say.
T.J. Hockenson Fantasy Football Reaction
Sean Koerner: Irv Smith Jr. was already droppable due to a high ankle sprain that will reportedly sideline him for 8-10 weeks, but now you can really cut him loose.
Outside of that, we already know that Hockenson is a high-value tight end, and this only solidifies that.

Samantha Previte: This trade certainly makes sense given the injuries to Smith and Adam Thielen. Kirk Cousins should also get a mild boost with another solid target, and Hockenson remains a mid-to-high-end TE1.
Brock Wright is someone that you could consider adding, but I would only do that if you are very desperate. This move also hurts Jared Goff’s fantasy value; I’d probably stay away from him except in favorable matchups.
Amon-Ra St. Brown, Khalif Raymond and Jameson Williams are all marginally elevated by the news.
