Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee suffered an injury during Sunday's NFC Championship Game against the San Francisco 49ers.
He hobbled off with a leg injury in the first quarter with the game scoreless, but not before catching two passes for 18 yards.
He was ruled questionable to return. He was downgraded to out in the third quarter. Kendall Blanton replaced him at tight end.
Higbee has played a huge role with the Rams this year. He notched more than 60 catches during the regular season, plus five touchdowns.
Higbee caught three passes from quarterback Matthew Stafford in the Wild Card Round against 49ers. In the Divisional Round vs. the Buccaneers, he brought down four receptions registering 51 yards.
Sunday's NFC Championship Game betting line and total at DraftKings closed Rams -3.5 and 45.5, respectively.
Arguably the biggest storyline entering the game was head coach Sean McVay's 0-6 skid against San Francisco, including four of those losses as a favorite.
The Rams have been money for bettors recently — they have cashed six of the last eight against the spread — while the 49ers have been even better, hitting seven of the last eight.
Earlier Sunday, the Bengals went into Arrowhead Stadium and upended the Chiefs in overtime, 27-24. The Bengals will represent the AFC in the Super Bowl for the first time since 1989 behind second-year quarterback Joe Burrow.
He's just the seventh second-year quarterback to reach the Super Bowl.
Cincinnati — which has now covered seven straight — at one point, was 200-1 to win the title before the season.
