Welcome to NFL Draft week, where mock drafts are aplenty and betting odds will move consistently. It just so happens that the most notable movement to open the week happens at the top with Travon Walker and Aidan Hutchinson.
Betting on the NFL Draft usually just comes down to educated speculation. NFL Draft betting experts scour as many mocks as they can and hope the consensus guesses are right, while also finding holes in the betting market as a result.
That's where this line movement comes in.
Late Sunday night, NFL insider Peter King dropped his official mock draft. At the top? Georgia defensive end Travon Walker ahead of the previous favorite, Michigan edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson.
Those who believe King is privy to inside knowledge of the pick were quick to rush to the sportsbooks and grab Walker at plus-money.
Now Walker finds himself at -175 at BetMGM to be the No. 1 overall pick. He's -155 at FanDuel and PointsBet. He's all the way up to -200 at Caesars.
Hutchinson is now second on odds boards, coming in at +135 at BetMGM, +140 at Caesars and +150 at both PointsBet and FanDuel.
King also mentions Ikem Ekwonu as an option. The NC State offensive lineman is third on odds boards to go No. 1 overall.
Skeptics will point out that very few people actually know what these teams are going to do. Last year, Mac Jones was expected by many to go No. 3 overall to the San Francisco 49ers, including King himself in last year's version of his mock draft. Instead, it was Trey Lance going third and Jones falling to No. 15 to the New England Patriots.
But information will continue to spread in the final hours leading up to Thursday's draft. And odds are likely to move because of it.
The movement can create some arbitrage situations, which may be the best bet to lock in profits on the NFL Draft.
