Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud is now the favorite to win NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, according to the sportsbooks.
Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson was the favorite to win OROY before Week 4, but Stroud had been climbing the odds boards.
After throwing for 306 yards and two touchdowns in a 30-6 win over the Steelers, Stroud has taken the lead to win NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
The former Ohio State quarterback has thrown for 1,212 yards this season, which ranks fourth in the NFL. Stroud is on pace for 5,151 yards. Andrew Luck holds the rookie passing yards record at 4,374.
Stroud opened at +650 to win the award and was +350 before Week 4. He's now +175 at BetMGM.
Robinson opened the season as the favorite to win at +300. He hasn't done anything to lose his spot as the favorite, Stroud has just been better. Robinson has rushed for 318 yards through four games and is on pace for 1,351 yards. That's notable because no running back has run for over 1,300 yards in their rookie season since Kareem Hunt in 2017.
Robinson is now +400 at BetMGM.
"Bijan +450 OROY at DraftKings is silly," Action Network betting analyst Brandon Anderson said. "This might be a buy low spot vs. a bad Houston run defense. [Robinson is on] pace for almost 2,000 scrimmage yards, tied for third in rushing yds, absolutely looks the part and is bound to bust a long one soon."
