With the Philadelphia Eagles up two scores against the Minnesota Vikings late in the fourth quarter, there was little doubt the Eagles would come away with their second win of the 2023 season on Thursday Night Football.
But the Vikings scored with under two minutes remaining on a Kirk Cousins pass to T.J. Hockenson, and that touchdown made a huge difference for bettors. The Eagles closed as 6-point favorites over Minnesota at most sportsbooks, meaning that those spread bets on either the Eagles or Vikings pushed with Philadelphia winning by exactly six points in a 34-28 Eagles vs Vikings final score.

Eagles Odds | ||

-6 -110 | 49 -110o / -110u | -260 |
It doesn't end there, though. For much of the week, the Eagles were -6.5 — and even -7 — at some sportsbooks. For those who were on Minnesota +6.5, Thursday night ended up being a good result. Not so much for Philadelphia backers at -6.5 or longer, though.

Meanwhile, although Philadelphia was -6 across the market at kickoff, the Eagles actually closed at -5.5 at FanDuel, meaning late Eagles bettors there did still cash against the spread.
Oh, and about that 34-28 final score? A couple of our fine Action Network experts took a casual flyer on an exact-score prop that made for an eventful Thursday night.
Grabbed drinks with @BrendanGlasheen right before TNF started and he bet an exact score, so I figured why not give it a spin.

As for the total over/under, the second-half scoring meant that the over cashed with relative ease. The over/under for Vikings vs. Eagles was 48.5 or 49, depending on the book, and the teams combined for 62 total points.
