Vikings vs. Bengals
The Vikings and Bengals are somehow both in the thick of the playoff hunt despite losing starting quarterbacks Kirk Cousins and Joe Burrow, respectively. The natural thing is to gravitate to the star wide receivers — Justin Jefferson and Ja’Marr Chase — as they are the most talented players on the field.
I don’t love the matchup for Jefferson; I think the Vikings will lean heavily on the run game with Nick Mullens at QB.
The Bengals have one of the worst run defenses in the league (bottom five in rushing TDs allowed) and they also struggle against tight ends. That’s why I lean RB Ty Chandler at +165 and TE TJ Hockenson at +240 for Vikings TD scorers.
I also wouldn’t mind if you sniffed around RB2 Kene Nwangwu at +1000 since Alexander Mattison (ankle) has been ruled out.
Pick: Ty Chandler +165 (PointsBet); T.J. Hockenson +240 (bet365)
Vikings vs. Bengals
For the Bengals, I’d rather take a flier on Tee Higgins at +280 instead of Chase at +150.
I know the latter will get the volume, but Browning is looking for Higgins down the field as evidenced by 42- and 30-yard catches against the Colts.
