The NFL gambling suspensions have hit a critical mass, so much so that it's hard to differentiate what one did from the other. We're here to help. Below you'll find the answers.

Those that placed bets on football received indefinite suspensions. Those that placed wagers on their own team potentially face more punitive punishments. And those that received six game suspensions, by and large, didn't wager on the NFL. Instead, they placed bets on other sports or table games at team facilities.

Coaches, staff, trainers and other team employees are barred from gambling on sports at all. Players, on the other hand, are permitted to wager on other sports and on table games outside of team facilities.

It's unclear whether the players that bet on the NFL placed wagers at team facilities, too.

While players are permitted to gamble on other sports and on table games, as aforementioned, they're barred from doing so on team grounds. That small caveat in the rule is why Petit-Frere, Williams, Berryhill and Austin were slapped with six game suspensions instead of indefinite ones.
