The men's curling tournament at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing will begin with round robin play on Feb. 9. The 10 qualifying nations will compete in nine preliminary round matches and the top four teams will advance to the semifinals, which are on Feb. 17.
Great Britain is the betting favorite for the tournament at +200, with Canada and Sweden checking in right behind them at +225 and +275, respectively.
The United States are next up but considerably further down the list at +800. Team USA won a surprising gold medal at the games in South Korea four years ago, and the team skipped by John Shuster qualified again this year and will look to pull off the upset and defend their title.
Three of the five members from that team return, including Shuster, who is in his fifth-straight Olympic games. In addition to the gold won in 2018, he led the men's team to a bronze medal in 2006 in Italy.
All Olympic men's curling events will be broadcast on NBC networks or streaming services.

The women's curling tournament at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing will begin with round robin play on Feb. 9. The 10 qualifying nations will compete in nine preliminary round matches and the top four teams will advance to the semifinals, which are on Feb. 18.
Sweden is the defending gold medalist and has been installed as +250 betting favorites to capture the title once again this year. Right behind Sweden is Canada and Great Britain, both at +300, and Switzerland at +500. Four years ago in South Korea, the Canadians finished a disappointing 4-5 in group play and missed out on a semifinal spot. Great Britain went 6-3 in group play but lost to Japan in the Bronze Medal Game.
The United States is 10/1 to win the gold medal and is coming off a 2018 Olympics that saw them go 4-5 in group play. Nearly that entire team is back this year, with the major change being that Tabitha Peterson is now the skip, with 2018 skip Nina Roth still on the team in third position.
