Megan Gustafson Over in Points

Spain vs. Puerto Rico: 5 a.m. ET, Wednesday

By Dano Mataya

I think Megan Gustafson is going to have a huge game again, like she did against China.

I'm impressed with her footwork and her ability to finish from anywhere. She didn't hit any 3s, but she was extremely efficient in the group-play opener against China.

I expect her to dominate even more in this matchup against Puerto Rico.

She's been a player who's had success in Euro basketball, and a lot of similar rules apply to the Olympics. She shot 14-of-19 from 2-point range. She had 29 points and played 40 minutes — since it went into overtime.

When the props come out for this Puerto Rico-Spain matchup, you should jump all over Gustafson.

Nigeria +18.5

Nigeria vs. France: 11:15 a.m. ET, Thursday

By Dano Mataya

Nigeria was up 15 points at one point against Australia; they took the lead in the second quarter and never looked back.

Holding Australia to 62 points — a team with both Olympic experience and a lot of WNBA players — is beyond impressive. It's an awesome win.

They were picking up full-court against Australia, and that led to ton of turnovers, which created 26 points for Nigeria.

France does have bigger guards and they have multiple guards who can bring it up, but Nigeria has a good system that can mess you up, which is important to have when you're a huge underdog.

I don't know if Nigeria is going to be able to pull an upset against France, but I feel good about their chances of keeping this game close.
