This is my single MOST CONFIDENT Team Over Total in the NHL. And its the Inverse of last year. Last year we took their under, which was a gift of a line that didn't even come close. The San Jose Sharks at 63.5 points, seems a little bit too low for me. Firstly 64 points isnt quite hard to do. A team with a .40 win % last year cleared it, we already asking them to be gang busters. This sharks team last year was rolling out Filip Zadina, Nico Sturm, Ryan Carpenter, Jack Studnicka in their top 6. They have now added a bonafide 30 goals scorer in the NHL in Tyler Toffoli. They are adding TWO top prospects to their team with the #1 pick in Macklin Cellebrini and IMO one of the best prospects in the NHL in Will Smith. William Ekblund and Fabian Zetterlund both adding another year of growth under their belts. Their 2nd line center form last year (Nico Sturm) is now rightly in the 4th line role, and they have added depth in Barclay Goodrow, Ty Dellandrea and Alex Wenneberg. Logan Couture missed entirely all of last season and if he can find even a bit of health to add 40-50 games hes another top 6 player and franchise legend who can help them win games. Their Defense isnt great just yet, but they added Jake Walman from DET who easily IMO becomes their best defender next to Mario Ferraro. They have a potentail of Sam Dickinson joining the squad with a huge camp and hes a big time prospect who can come up. Adding on Askari’s, maybe the single best goalie prospect in the NHL is a nice add here, and will help them immensely in goal should he find his potential. I just hate laying big $$ on a -110 for the season right now, but this is my single most confident one. I dont expect them to be gang busters, I dont expect a playoff push. But I expect them to be much better than what they were last year which was just embarrassing.#Future #Future
