The 2028 United States presidential election isn't for nearly four years, but with Donald Trump officially sworn in for his second term as president on Monday, sportsbooks are looking ahead, as always.
While you won't find election odds at popular sportsbooks like DraftKings in the U.S., non-American regulated sportsbooks such as BetMGM UK offer election odds. Similarly, Kalshi is the first legal and regulated prediction market in the U.S. to bet on the presidential election, which we saw ahead of the 2024 election last November.
Currently, Kalshi has markets on which party will win in 2028 and who the nominees for president and vice president will be for both the Republican and Democratic parties.
Of the options listed above, only BetMGM UK has straight "who will win the 2028 election" odds, and new Vice President JD Vance is the favorite at +275 odds (implies a 26.67% chance of winning). Behind Vance is Democratic California Governor Gavin Newsom at +650 odds (13.33% implied probability), Democratic Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro at +800 odds (11.11%), former First Lady Michelle Obama (also +800), and Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis at 10-1 odds (9.09%).
BetMGM UK also offers odds just on which party will win in 2028. Currently, the odds are -162 for the Republicans (implied 61.92%), +120 for the Democrats (45.45% implied), and 33-1 for an Independent/Third-Party candidate (2.94%).
See the full odds from BetMGM UK below, which are current as of January 20, 2025.
