  • Champions League groups are being finalized on Tuesday and Wednesday, as Manchester City and PSG advanced from Group A after the first wave of games.
  • Atletico Madrid needed a win to advance and got it, topping Porto 3-1 to finish second in Group B.
  • See all Champions League scenarios for Wednesday's matches below.

The 2021-22 UEFA Champions League group stage is down to one final match per team on Tuesday or Wednesday. If you bet any teams to advance or win their groups, it's now or never, so we outlined each group scenario with the current standings below.

The top two clubs from each group advance to the knockout stage, which will have a new draw that pits a group winner against a second-place finisher in the Round of 16.

The third-place team from each UCL group will join the Europa League this season, so there's still plenty to play for even for teams at the bottom of their groups.

Tuesday's matches have all gone final, so here are final standings for those groups, plus the scenarios for Wednesday.

Champions League Tiebreakers

Here's how the tiebreakers look. There are 11 total, but nothing beyond four will come into play.

  1. Head-to-head points;
  2. Head-to-head goal differential;
  3. Head-to-head goals scored;
  4. If more than two teams are tied, 1-3 are re-run using just the teams in question, if there are still ties;
  5. Goal differential in all group matches;
  6. Goals scored in all group matches;
  7. Away goals scored in all group matches;
  8. Wins in group matches;
  9. Away wins in group matches;
  10. Lower disciplinary points total (red cards are three; yellow are one); and,
  11. Higher club coefficient.

Group Standings & Scenarios

Three of the group winners have already been decided, and in a few, we know which two teams will advance.

But in Group F and Group G for example there's still a ton to be decided.

Here are the group standings entering Matchday 6.

Group A

TeamPointsLast Match
Manchester City12L at Leipzig
PSG11W vs. Club Brugge
RB Leipzig7W vs. Man City
Club Brugge4L at PSG

This group was already decided entering Matchday 6, but Leipzig scored an upset win over Man City to finish third in the group and reach the Europa League this season.

Group B

TeamPointsLast Match
Liverpool18W at AC Milan
Atletico Madrid7W at Porto
Porto5L vs. Atletico Madrid
AC Milan4L vs. Liverpool

Liverpool had this group locked up for a while, and Atletico Madrid advanced on the final day with a win over Porto.

Because AC Milan didn't secure a point, Porto will advance to the Europa League.

Group C

TeamPointsLast Match
Ajax18W vs. Sporting CP
Sporting CP9L at Ajax
Dortmund9W vs. Beşiktaş
Beşiktaş0L at Dortmund

This group was set entering Tuesday's matches.

Dortmund and Sporting split, but Sporting has the goal-differential edge. So, even though Dortmund got even at nine points, it lost the tiebreaker.

Group D

TeamPointsLast Match
Real Madrid15W vs. Inter
Inter10L at Real
Sheriff7D at Shakhtar
Shakhtar2D vs. Sheriff

Real Madrid beat Inter 2-0 to win the group, but both teams had already locked up spots in the knockout round.

Sheriff advances to the Europa League.

Group E

TeamPointsLast Match
Bayern Munich15vs. Barcelona
Barcelona7at Bayern
Benfica5vs. Dynamo Kyiv
Dynamo Kyiv1at Benfica

Benfica need all three points and a Barcelona loss to advance. The betting market gives that about a 60% chance of happening.

Benfica is a huge favorite over Dynamo Kyiv — -320 on the three-way line and -1,200 on the two-way line. Barca is a +350 underdog to win at Bayern.

Group F

TeamPointsLast Match
Manchester United10vs. Young Boys
Villareal7at Atalanta
Atalanta6vs. Villareal
Young Boys4at Man United

This group looks complicated, but Manchester United already has it locked up because it holds tiebreakers over Villareal.

The Villareal-Atalanta winner will finish second. If it's a draw, Villareal advances.

Atalanta is a -135 favorite in this match on the three-way line, so they have a 54.9% chance to advance since they need all three points.

Young Boys can't get to second because Villareal will have 8+ points with a draw or win, and Atalanta would have nine with a win.

Group G

TeamPointsLast Match
Lille8at Wolfsburg
FC Salzburg7vs. Sevilla
Sevilla6at Salzburg
VfL Wolfsburg5vs. Lille

A lot of the other groups have their tiebreakers settled, because the teams in question have already played head to head twice. Not here.

Lille is in good position. They just need a draw or win to advance. The betting market gives them a 58% chance to do so.

Wolfsburg advances with a win, and the betting market gives them a 42% chance to do so. A win over Lille on Wednesday would give them tiebreakers over the French side.

Salzburg can win or draw and advance; Sevilla needs a win.

If Salzburg-Sevilla draw and Wolfsburg wins, three teams will wind up with eight points. Salzburg and Wolfsburg would advance in that scenario.

Group H

TeamPointsLast Match
Chelsea12at Zenit
Juventus12vs. Malmö
Zenit4vs. Chelsea
Malmö FF1at Juventus

Chelsea holds the tiebreaker over Juve, so if both teams end up with the same result, Chelsea will win the group.

Otherwise, whoever ends up with the better result on Wednesday would win.

Zenit already has third locked up, since it holds tiebreakers over Malmö.
