Carlos Avilan's Wolverhampton vs. Manchester United Best Bet
If you simply take a quick look at last Sunday’s results, you might think this one is pretty easy to figure out with two teams on different sides of the same score. Wolverhampton, coming off a 3-0 victory against Leicester City, is heading home for Boxing Day to host a Manchester United side in need of repair after a 3-0 loss to Bournemouth.
However, this is the Wolves we’re talking about. This is the same team that lost the previous four matches in a row and leads the league in goals conceded with a whopping 40 in just 17 games. These are the aptly named Wanderers, who lost six-of-eight matches at home and are just 2-2-5 on the road.
Their past encounters against Manchester United don't help their case either. In fact, they've racked up four straight losses and only scored in only one of those games.
So, for as shaky as the Red Devils may seem, this is theirs to lose. They’ve been good enough on the road (2-3-3) to earn the edge on the moneyline.
Pick: Manchester United Moneyline
Carlos Avilan's Manchester City vs. Everton Best Bet
Enough is enough.
If this home fixture against Everton isn't a bounce-back game for Manchester City, then we've entered the twilight zone. Never mind the downward spiral over the past six weeks, Manchester City is still one of the best home teams (5-2-1) in the Premier League and leads the league in possession and pass accuracy.
If the Citizens get their act together and find the net first, things will fall into place, at least in this fixture. Their defense should have a chance to regain some confidence as the Toffees, with just 14 goals in 16 league matches, are next-to-last in scoring.
The Toffees, of course, are not hopeless. There are a couple of things they do well. They rank third in goals scored from set pieces and their stingy defense can frustrate powerful sides, just as it did to Chelsea last Sunday in a 0-0 stalemate. After all, they've only conceded 21 goals in 16 games.
Pep Guardiola and his players know this is their day. They have won six of their past seven matchups against Everton and have scored against them in 14 consecutive Premier League contests.
Pick: Manchester City Moneyline
Camil Straschnoy's Chelsea vs. Fulham Best Bet
Chelsea has no room for error when they host Fulham at Stamford Bridge.
With Manchester City and Manchester United adrift, a Tottenham team that has disappointed and an inconsistent Arsenal, Enzo Maresca's side seems to be the only team capable of becoming a serious contender to Liverpool in the Premier League title race.
Dropping points, as they did last matchday in their draw against Everton, is a luxury they can't afford to repeat. That’s why, when facing Fulham, the Blues need to come out looking for the win.
This is a small London derby between two clubs whose stadiums are very close to each other. However, the talent gap between them is massive. Chelsea are clear favorites to not only take all three points, but to also keep a clean sheet.
Chelsea is on a nine-match unbeaten run. Additionally, the Blues have kept a clean sheet in five of their past six matches against Fulham. Today, their defensive solidity could help them do it again.
