Brazil and Cameroon will close out Group G play on Friday afternoon.

The Selecao are already through to the knockout round after winning their first two matches and will finish atop their pool. The only way they finish second is if they lose and Switzerland defeats Serbia by a significant amount.

Cameroon are third in the group and must beat the tournament favorites to advance to the round of 16.

Do the Indomitable Lions have any chance of beating the No. 1 team in the world and advancing beyond the group stage in a World Cup for the first time since 1990?

Cameroon Have Found Their Attacking Form

Cameroon find themselves with a steep mountain to climb.  Not only do they have to score against a Brazilian squad that has yet to allow a shot on target so far in Qatar, but they have to win.

However, the Indomitable Lions rediscovered the form they showed during the African Cup of Nations run when they scored a tournament-high 14 goals in their 3-3 draw against Serbia.

After producing just 0.74 xG against Switzerland in their World Cup opener, Cameroon were able to outperform that in the first 28 minutes against Serbia (1.25 xG) to accumulate a total of 2.29 for the match. They now also sit fourth in the World Cup for shots on target per match with 6.5.

While Cameroon are finding their form in the final third, the same can't be said on the defensive side of the ball. Now, due to a dispute with manager Rigobert Song, goalkeeper Andre Onana has been sent home and the Lions will have to continue on with a backup in net. That's not ideal when up against a powerhouse like Brazil in a win-or-go-home situation.

Brazil Have World Class Depth

Neymar will be sidelined against Cameroon as he continues to recover from his ankle injury in Brazil's opener. He will likely be one of the many starters out of the lineup vs. the African side, given how they have Group G wrapped up.

This Brazilian team has so much talent and depth that their bench players would likely start for many of the other nations in the tournament.

Brazil are not just dangerous on the attack, though. Their defense has been the better side of the ball through the first two matches. They have allowed just 0.48 xG throughout their two games, and their keeper hasn't even been forced to make a single save.

The saying is that defense wins championships. However, you just don't always associate that with a team who plays with as much flair as Brazil. Still, even during WCQ, Brazil only allowed five goals in 17 matches.

Cameroon vs. Brazil Pick

Although Cameroon will put up a good fight, Brazil have too much talent at every position on the pitch, regardless of who they play. They will find a way to pick apart a Cameroon team that is forced to play on the attacking foot.

Since 2014, the Samba Boys have won five of their eight group-stage matches by two or more goals. Expect them to make that six of nine on Friday when they take advantage of a second-string goalkeeper for Cameroon.

Back Brazil on the spread.

The Pick: Brazil -1.5 (+110)
