Brett Pund: Sporting and Beşiktaş were outclassed and outmatched in losses to Borussia Dortmund and Ajax. So, if either plan on getting any points in the Champions League this season, it’s likely to happen in the two games they face each other.
Sporting, the Portuguese champion, is the better squad and I’ll be backing the club in the Draw No Bet market at -165 odds for the first leg of this parlay.
If you look at the current forms of both teams, it definitely favors Sporting, which has a +0.42 expected-goals difference in the last five matches across all competitions, according to infogol.com.
In contrast, Beşiktaş has only one victory in its last five games and two in the last seven contests overall. The Black Eagles also have more injury concerns entering this matchup, with Miralem Pjanic, Mehmet Topal and Georges-Kevin Nkoudou expected to miss out on the fixture.
In its last 11 UCL home games, Beşiktaş has just one victory, with the last win coming back in September 2017.
That said, give me Sporting to find a way to get a positive result and get its European campaign turned around.
Pund's Pick: Sporting — Draw No Bet (-165)
Inter Milan vs. FC Sheriff
Inter Milan Odds | -550 |
FC Sheriff Odds | +1300 |
Draw | +700 |

Jeremy Pond: There always seems to be a tournament darling in Champions League each season. This time around, it's little-known (well, used to be "little known") FC Sheriff.
Clearly the surprise of the competition thus far, the Yellow-Blacks have put themselves atop Group D following back-to-back wins against Shakhtar Donetsk and global powerhouse Real Madrid. The latter triumph, which came via a 2-1 shocker in the Spanish capital, sent shockwaves through Europe and put the small Moldova First Division club on the map.
In contrast, Inter Milan has been anything but prolific up to this point on the domestic and international fronts. The legendary club sits third in the Italian top flight, but enters this matchup fresh off a 3-1 drubbing at the hands of Lazio last time out.
Both teams can hit the back of the net, though, with FC Sheriff scoring a whopping 31 goals through 10 league fixtures. Add in the four combined they scored in their wins over Shakhtar and Real Madrid, and you have a team that will come at your with no regard to the the player/team names on the backs of the opposing players' jerseys.
As for Inter Milan, they've racked up 23 goals through eight Serie A games and scored at least one goal in eight of 10 matches across all competitions. Most impressive is the fact I Nerazzurri have recorded at least two goals in seven of those contests.
That said, I'm backing both teams to score goals at +115 odds via DraftKings in the second leg of this parlay.
Inter Milan has one of the more mediocre Serie A defenses, giving up at least one goal in seven of eight league fixtures. The defeat at the hands of Lazio should have triggered even louder alarm bells for this club and given an FC Sheriff outfit even more confidence that it really doesn't need at this point.
Pond's Pick:Both Teams To Score — Yes (+115)
Pund & Pond Parlay
Sporting — Draw No Bet (-165) & Inter Milan vs. FC Sheriff (BTTS — Yes | +115) at +245 odds via DraftKings
