Crystal Palace are looking to finally get their first Premier League win as they host Tottenham in a London clash on Premier League Sunday.
Not many could have predicted just how bad Crystal Palace would be to start the season. After impressing in the latter half of last season which saw them finish at a respectable 10th place, Oliver Glasner's team only has three points so far from three draws. Surprisingly, two of those draws came against big six clubs, albeit the struggling ones in Chelsea and Manchester United. Anything but a loss would be a good result for the Eagles as they will try to hold off Spurs' attacking prowess.
Tottenham seem to have finally gotten a hold of their season. After a streaky start that saw them lose to Newcastle and Arsenal, Spurs bounced back with five wins in a row. A disappointing second half collapse against Brighton reminded them of the work needed to be done and since then they have looked on the up.
Let's get into my Crystal Palace vs. Tottenham Hotspur prediction.

Crystal Palace Preview
Crystal Palace lost 1-0 to Nottingham Forest on Monday. This was already their fifth loss of the season, with four of those only being decided by one goal. They lost their last two games 1-0 and have failed to score in four of their eight Premier League games. Losing Michael Olise hampered the squad's goal-creating potential, with Eberechi Eze now being tasked with handling most of the offensive load.
Glasner has always used a three man defense in his tenure at Selhurst Park. While that usually means a 3-4-3, Palace played in a 3-2-4-2 last game against Forest, therefore dropping a forward for a midfielder and more supposed stability. In both of these formations, Munoz and Mitchell push high and wide on the wings, often leaving space for wingers in behind. The team presses high and looks to get the ball in the feet of their forwards quick, whether that is Jean-Philippe Mateta or Eddie Nketiah.
Palace currently rank in last place for goal-created chances. Not only that, but the team is also severely underperforming on its expected goals, with the second-largest goal to expected goal difference at -5.1.
Tottenham Preview
Tottenham look to be making a charge to get back to their usual place in the top eight of the Premier League. The team continues to diligently apply the principles proclaimed by Ange Postecoglou, which are to press high and win the ball back as soon as possible after losing it. Tottenham have no problem putting the ball in the back of net, and with 18 goals they rank second only behind Man City for goals scored.
They are coming off a 1-0 win against AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League in a game which saw Postecoglou switch up his side and play some youngsters such as 18-year olds Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray, along with 17-year old Mikey Moore. The convincing 4-1 win over West Ham last weekend puts Spurs in a nice spot to climb up the table. The 3-2 loss against Brighton seems to have served as a reminder of the work Spurs need to do if they want to challenge for the Champions League places once again.
Heung-Min Son missed a few games with injuries this season, but he came back against West Ham to score. He did not feature against AZ Alkmaar and could be due to miss this game. Spurs have the depth to play without him although they would prefer him to feature as he remains questionable.
Crystal Palace vs. Tottenham Prediction
Crystal Palace have lost an incredible 15 out of their last 18 Premier League games against Tottenham. They have also failed to score in three of their four home games this season. If they want to turn their season around, it comes with creating more chances and putting those away. Palace have the worst goals per shot ratio in the league and while I believe they will have chances against Tottenham, I doubt they will score more than one goal. Their defensive efforts have been keeping them afloat, and only conceding one goal against Chelsea and Liverpool is pretty impressive.
Tottenham will look to confirm on their recent successes and I realistically see them taking this one home. The team has scored at least two goals in their last seven Premier League games, and if they do score at least two, Palace will not be able to keep up.
