After the first three weels of the La Liga season, the elite matchups during the latest fixtures might be the best of the bunch, with multiple teams qualified for European competitions facing each other.

The marquee match this weekend involves squads tied for the most points in the league, with Real Madrid facing Real Betis. And it's a contest where I feel the road underdog has all of the betting value. That's followed by two more great Saturday fixtures featuring Real Sociedad taking on Atlético Madrid and Barcelona’s trip to Sevilla.

Meanwhile, my final wager in the Spanish top flight is Valencia hosting Getafe, which I don’t think this is a game you will want to watch after the entertaining affairs the day before. However, there's still plenty of value in that game to cash a winning ticket.

This might be a big college football weekend, but you will definitely want to add an extra screen for La Liga action. That said, here are my three best bets.

Our La Liga Best Bets

Real Madrid vs. Real Betis

If I thought Madrid was overvalued against Espanyol, there's no way I can pass up getting a goal on the Asian Handicap at +170 odds via FanDuel with Betis.

Bookmakers are essentially saying manager Manuel Pellegrini’s side is rated the same as Los Blancos’ last opponent, which is completely wrong.

Another way to back Betis would be to lay a bigger price for a spread of +1.5 goals if your book offers it, but I can’t look away from the offer at FanDuel.

By The Numbers

  • 3rd — Last season, Real Betis only finished behind Madrid and Barcelona in points picked up on the road in the league play.
  • 25% — In games against Top 7 sides last campaign, manager Carlo Ancelotti’s team only covered this same spread in three of 12 fixtures.

Pund's Pick: Real Betis +1 (+170)

We were all wondering how long it would take for Barcelona’s new signings to gel and it seems the team is already firing on all cylinders.

Star striker Robert Lewandowski is leading the way with four goals, including a "Goal of the Season" contender last weekend. This isn't a good sign for a Sevilla team that is struggling defensively after selling both starting center backs this summer.

So, I’m backing the total to fly over 2.5 goals at -130 odds at Caesars, but it wouldn’t surprise me if there are more than 3.5 goals (+200) as well.

By The Numbers

  • 1.71 — In the 29 La Liga matches since Xavi became manager, Barcelona has averaged more than 1.5 xG per 90 minutes, according to fbref.com.
  • 0 — Sevilla hasn't earned a clean sheet through three fixtures and allowed multiple goals to Osasuna and Almería.

Pund's Pick: Total Over 2.5 Goals (-130)

I couldn’t make it through a La Liga Best Bets article without including a low-scoring match. And this is the one that jumps out with the most value.

The best way to attack this is through a Single Game Parlay, pairing the Both Teams to Score (No) wager and total falling under 2.5 goals at -118 odds over at FanDuel.

If there have been goals in games involving these teams, it has typically come from the opponents and I struggle to see the ball hitting the back of the net many times in this meeting.

By The Numbers

  • 1.00 — Valencia ranks last in the league with this mark in average shots on target per 90 minutes, while Getafe comes in at 19th with 1.67 per match.
  • 20th — The visitors are also at the bottom of the Spanish top flight in multiple offensive categories, including the fewest shots per game (8.33) and expected goals (1.6) this season.

Pund's Pick: Same Game Parlay —  Both Teams to Score (No) & Total Under 2.5 Goals (-118)
