Just a day ago, there were reports that Cristiano Ronaldo had agreed to personal terms and was expected to suit up for Manchester City. City was the favorite to attain Ronaldo, with -110 odds to land the Portuguese superstar at Bookmakers.co.uk.
And while Man City became the favorite to land Ronaldo, his former club, Manchester United, was a longshot at +1600. That makes the fact that United will officially be bringing Ronaldo back all the more shocking.
Bookmakers.co.uk has some insights on Ronaldo's odds, as they shifted as we got closer to Friday morning:
"While Ronaldo does look certain to leave Juventus (he is now 16/1 to still be at the club come September 1st), a sensational move back to Manchester United may be in the offing, with odds on such a move just 5/4 from as high as 16/1 this time yesterday."
As of August 9th, Manchester United was +1600 (❗️) to land Cristiano Ronaldo.
