Expert Soccer Picks
Soccer - Game Picks
Whether you call it soccer or football, there's no doubt it's one of the best sports to follow, watch, and bet on. There are tons of leagues around the world, and almost all of the big ones will have odds at most U.S. online sportsbooks. Big tournaments will be available to bet on, too, like the Euros, World Cup, or the Olympics.
Soccer Odds and Picks
Because there are so many games and leagues, however, it can be difficult to track every team and all of the factors that go into betting. Sharp soccer bettors keep a close eye on a variety of factors like recent form, betting market movement, news, injuries, and advanced statistics.
At The Action Network, we provide a ton of content on every big soccer league around the world, and our experts take the hard work off your plate and provide picks for free for a variety of games and markets. You can find those picks on this page or in the Action app.
If you're new to soccer betting, it's best to first get familiar with the most common odds and bet types. The easiest is the moneyline, which is simply a wager on which team will win the match. The odds may be tricky at first, but think of the American odds in increments of $100. If Chelsea is -150 vs. Manchester United, you would profit $100 for every $150 wagered. If Man U was +120 in that instance, you would get $120 on a $100 bet if it won.
Of course, in soccer betting you might see three-way moneylines, which have the odds for each team to win but also odds for a draw, which is a term for when the match ends in a tie. Many books offer two-way moneylines if you don't want to deal with ties, and in those instances bettors get their money back if neither team wins.
Betting over/unders, or totals, is also very popular in the soccer gambling world. These are simply bets on the total number of goals in the game: For example, if a match had a total of 2.5, you could bet either over or under that number. If you bet over, you'd win if there were three or more goals; if you bet under, you'd cash at two or fewer.
There are many other markets in soccer betting, including goal lines, which are spread bets on the goal differential. France might be -1.5 goals against Canada, which means a bet on France would cash if it won by two or more goals. If Canada won outright or lost by just a single goal, that side of the wager would win.
Other markets include Double Chance, Asian handicap, parlays, and more. Make sure to read our sportsbook reviews to find the best spot for you to start wagering on soccer.
