In the midweek Premier League headliner, Arsenal welcomes Liverpool to Emirates Stadium on Wednesday in a match between two top-four powers.

The Gunners have surged up the table on a six-game unbeaten run, moving into the fourth and final Champions League qualification spot for next season.

Meanwhile, the Reds also enter this clash on great form, winning their last five in the league to move within four points of league leader Manchester City.

These clubs have been the most consistent over the last few months in all of Europe, so I think the defenses are going to struggle to cope with the high-flying attacks in an entertaining game.

Latest EPL Match Beyond Huge for Arsenal

This is a very important match for Arsenal and its hopes of qualifying for the UCL next season. Not only is this one of the Gunners’ games in hand, it’s also an opportunity to put some distance between themselves and the rest of the field battling for fourth place.

Manager Mikel Arteta has his team hitting on all cylinders coming into this affair, posting a +6.6 expected goals difference, according to fbref.com, over its last six league games.

During this same stretch, the North London club has outscored its opponents by a 10-4 margin and held them to an average of just 0.77 xG per 90 minutes.

You can also take it even further, where the Gunners only have one league loss in their last 11 outings in the English top flight.

Arteta has his young team dreaming of European football next season, and there is a great chance it could happen.

Liverpool Inching Closer Toward First Place

While Arsenal has been very good lately, you also could say the same thing about Jürgen Klopp’s team as well.

The last team to beat Liverpool in league play was Leicester City back on Dec. 28, which is a span of 10 games. During this run of matches, the Reds have been absolutely dominant, owning a +15.3 cGDiff and outscoring their opponents by a whopping 23-4 margin.

One big question mark for this midweek game is whether star striker Mohamed Salah will be available after picking up an injury in the win over Brighton & Hove Albion this past weekend.

Betting Analysis & Pick

When we look at the odds at DraftKings, the visitors are listed as the -110 moneyline favorite to go along with a total of 2.5 goals.

The form of both teams keeps me away from picking a side, but I do see value in the total. That said, my best bet is to back the total clearing 2.75 goals on the Asian Handicap at -110 odds.

It really comes down to the impressive attacking metrics from both clubs. Starting with Liverpool, Klopp’s side has averaged 2.83 xG per match and scored 15 goals in its last six EPL fixtures.

Over that same stretch, Arsenal has also been great going forward, registering an average of 1.9 xG per game and 10 total goals.

You also have to look at the home and road splits for both outfits, where the Gunners own a 1.79 xG per 90 minutes average at the Emirates. Meanwhile, the Reds have been even better on the road, posting an average of 2.35 xG per game away from home.

Liverpool’s road matches have also averaged a combined 3.5 goals per match, which only trails Leeds United (3.57) for the highest mark in the league.

If you want a better price, I think the game could finish with more than three goals at +120 odds. You also could look in the Single Game Parlay market, pairing Both Teams to Score (Yes) with Total Goals Over 2.5 at -105 odds.

This is a very important fixture for both powerhouses, so I think we should get goals to make it an entertaining match as well.

Pick: Total Over 2.5 Goals (-110)
