West Ham United looks to continue its push for a top-four finish in the Premier League on Tuesday when lowly Watford visits London Stadium.
The Hammers enter the weekend in fifth place and just a point from the final Champions League qualification place for next season.
Meanwhile, the Hornets picked up a draw over the weekend in their first match under new manager Roy Hodgson, but still find themselves in the relegation zone in 18th place.
In the first meeting between these sides in December, West Ham claimed all three points in a high-scoring affair, which I feel has a good chance of repeating itself in the latest showdown.
West Ham Hoping to Halt Losing Streak
After consecutive league defeats, West Ham finds itself out of the top four for the first time in months, which should add even more importance to this game.
Manager David Moyes has built one of the more consistent squads in the league, with the Hammers' +3.8 expected goals differential ranks fifth in the EPL, according to fbref.com.
Moyes’ side is one of just seven teams in the English top flight that owns a positive xGDiff this campaign.
One key contributor at the moment has been striker Jarrod Bowen, who has scored five goals in the last five matches across all competitions.
Hodgson Brings Different Look to Watford
Life under Hodgson started with a scoreless draw at relegation rival Burnley this past weekend. While it was just one match, you could see the switch in formation that Hodgson plans on bringing to this Watford squad.
He looks to be implementing his usual, old-school 4-4-2 formation that he has used over the years at his previous stops in Fulham and Crystal Palace.
One thing that will help his cause in this game is the return of the club’s leading scorer Emmanuel Dennis, who was suspended and could not participate in the draw at Burnley.
Betting Analysis & Pick
As you would expect from where the sides are in the table, West Ham is listed as the heavy -250 moneyline favorite at BetMGM.
I’m not ready to back the Hammers at that price or by a spread of -1, but I do think there’s value on a Single Game Parlay. That said, my best bet for this match is West Ham to Win and Both Teams to Score at +190 odds.
Over the Hammers' last six games, the Both Teams To Score wager has cashed in four of those fixtures to go along with a combined xG average of 3.35 per match during that span.
You also have to look at how Moyes' team has performed at home, where both teams have scored at the highest percentage in the EPL at 82 percent. This is also the same West Ham side that has failed to keep a clean sheet in eight of its last 10 fixtures overall.
Meanwhile, the Both Teams To Score wager has hit in four out of the last six games away from home for Watford, which has shown to be a very dangerous counterattacking side.
If your sportsbook offers player props, a bet on Jarrod Bowen to score anytime at +170 or better is a decent look as well with the form he's on.
My best bet got to the window in the first meeting between these teams, and I think it’s excellent value to come through again.
Pick: Single Game Parlay — West Ham ML & Both Teams to Score (+190)
