Norwich City welcomes West Ham United to Carrow Road on Sunday for a Premier League match between clubs that will have to pick themselves after recent disappointments.

For the hosts, the Canaries were officially relegated from the English top flight last weekend following the loss to Aston Villa.

Meanwhile, the Hammers have a shorter turnaround as their Europa League run came to an end in the semifinal round after a midweek loss in Germany to Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt.

Although there might not be major implications on this match like others around the league, it doesn’t mean there isn’t money to be made from this fixture, especially when I see clear value on one team in the betting market.

Relegated Norwich City Could Play Spoiler

It is another short stint in the EPL for Norwich as this is the third consecutive time the club has been relegated in its first season back in the first division.

There have been issues all over the field for the Canaries this campaign, with the team scoring the fewest amount of goals (22) and only trailing Leeds United for the most allowed (71) so far this season.

If there has been one bright spot on the year, it has been the play of striker Teemu Pukki, who leads the team in goals (10) and assists (three) overall.

The Finnish forward has played a direct role in 59 percent of Norwich’s goals this season. To put that into perspective, his percentage is higher than what Son Heung-min (49%), Mohamed Salah (41%) and Cristiano Ronaldo (38%) have done for their respective teams.

West Ham Chasing European Berth

The big question surrounding West Ham coming into this match is how the club will pick itself up from the disappointing exit from the Europa League.

With the Hammers sitting in seventh and six points off Manchester United in sixth, winning the European competition was their best chance of qualifying for the Champions League next season.

In fact, the club will likely have to settle for the Europa Conference League next season unless manager David Moyes’ team is able to catch the Red Devils.

It will be very important to check the lineup announcement an hour or so before kickoff as there could be multiple starters who sit this fixture out.

Betting Analysis & Pick

Oddsmakers at BetMGM is expecting the Hammers to bounce back from the midweek loss, listing the visitors as the moneyline favorites at -135 odds. The total is set at 2.5 goals.

As long as most of the starters are in the lineup, this number should be higher on West Ham and I’ll be on them in this game. So, my best bet is to back the Hammers on the moneyline to secure the victory.

It is very key to wait for the lineup news before placing this bet. If you see a good mix of Declan Rice, Jarrod Bowen, Michail Antonio and key defenders playing, then I would make the odds closer to -150 odds.

The handicap is more of a fade of Norwich in this spot, which is a team that ranks last in non-penalty expected goals per 90 minutes (0.81), shots per game (9.91) and big scoring chances created (17), according to fbref.com. This is also the same side that surrenders a lot of big scoring chances and crosses into its own penalty area, which are two key areas the Hammers thrive in.

Meanwhile, West Ham has six wins and only one loss against sides in the bottom five of the league this season, posting a +5.2 xGDiff in those games.

I also don’t hate a play on Bowen to score anytime at +180 or pairing a goal from him with a Hammers win in a Single Game Parlay at +240 odds.

This is the perfect opponent for a bounceback spot for West Ham, so I fully expect the side to pick up all three points in this game.

Pick: West Ham ML (-135)
