Manchester City has established itself as a heavy favorite to win the Premier League title, putting itself in a position where a result against West Ham United on Sunday could allow for the race to be over by the final matchweek.

The Hammers are seeking their own achievement in the table, gunning for a Europa League spot after they suffered a disappointing exit in the semifinal round of this year's competition in their tie with Eintracht Frankfurt.

So, where does the value lie in the EPL fixture? Let's take a look.

West Ham Battling For European Place

A first-ever spot in the Champions League was in sight for West Ham, but its losses to Eintracht Frankfurt put an emphatic end to that dream. So, now it's a race for another Europa League season for manager David Moyes' team.

Currently, West Ham is in the seventh spot in the EPL table, which would result in a Europa Conference League spot. However, the Hammers are three points off Manchester United for a Europa berth. West Ham has a game in hand on the Red Devils, but United does have a significant goal differential edge.

That means West Ham will need to get a result here if it wants any chance of returning to European football. Getting a point off a focused City team is no easy task, but the Hammers did push the Cityzens to a tightly contested 2-1 win in the reverse fixture.

Man City Dealing With Defensive Crisis

It's not all good vibes around manager Pep Guardiola's squad, following a similarly devastating European exit and a slew of injuries to the back line.

Kyle Walker, John Stones and Ruben Dias were all out for the season prior to the fixture against Wolves, and now Aymeric Laporte and Fernandinho are hurt. The options are slim for Guardiola, who might have to opt for Rodri at center back to partner with Nathan Ake if he can return to the squad.

Nonetheless, City still has one of the world's most prolific attacks and it's a mere matter of days away from cashing in on another Premier League title. With Liverpool three points back of City, a win against West Ham would open the door for the job to be done if Liverpool doesn't beat Southampton in Tuesday's lone fixture.

Unless the Reds thrash the Saints by a wide margin, it would likely be done anyway thanks to goal differential.

Betting Analysis & Pick

City is an absolute machine in the English top flight, particularly when it has nothing to play for in a match. However, there are serious concerns along that back line.

West Ham is a solid home side, averaging a 0.21 xG differential per game at the London Stadium, and it also put forth a quality game plan when the sides met earlier this season.

Considering just how lengthy City's injury list is, there's a good chance West Ham will be able to test the back line with route one play and that'll always open the door for chances.

The Cityzens will likely also have to be a touch more conservative, so with all things considered, it's easy to see this being a difficult game for the soon-to-be champions.

Pick: West Ham +1.5 (-120)
