Matthew Trebby: This stunning statistic was thrown into our Slack channel at The Action Network earlier this week, which caught my eye in a big way.
Burnley has only scored five goals this season, but registered 8.88 expected goals. That would indicate goals are to come, right?
Well, only 3.75 of those xG have come from open play, according to Understat. It's a staggering total, with 4.91 coming from corner kicks, 1.21 from set pieces and 0.19 from direct free kicks.
From open play, Burnley create very little. In this game against Southampton, who will be without captain James Ward-Prowse, the Saints will likely control play at home. They, like Burnley, will be desperate for three points sitting in the lower half of the table.
Unlike Burnley, Southampton thrives from open play and is due for more goals. The Saints have scored just four times from 8.64 xG this season.
Fitness has been the Saints' biggest downfall so far, with key attackers Che Adams and Theo Walcott missing time. However, they registered 1.53 xG away to Chelsea and 1.83 xG in a home win over Leeds United last weekend.
I expect the Saints to ride that momentum to three points against Burnley, who might be running out of time in the English top flight.
Trebby's Pick: Southampton ML (-105)
Crystal Palace vs. Newcastle

Newcastle Odds | +270 |

Jeremy Pond: When it comes to hard luck, you have to look no further than what happened to Crystal Palace in this past Monday's match against Arsenal. It was simply stunning to say the least.
The Eagles were just seconds away from picking up the road victory before Alexandre Lacazette scored the winner in the 95th minute to salvage the home draw at Emirates Stadium. The game what also marked the return of club legend Patrick Vieira, who manages the visiting side.
The stalemate just added to frustration for the club and its fans, which marked the third consecutive EPL match Crystal Palace finished in a tie. However, this is a perfect bounce-back spot for the Eagles, as they face an opponent that just sacked Steve Bruce and has a combined 1.0 xG in its last two matches.
For that reason, I'm backing Crystal Palace to bag all three points against Newcastle at -105 odds via BetMGM and will make it my top pick in this parlay. I fully expect Vieira's side to rebound from that brutal draw last time out, en route to all three points in front of the home supporters at Selhurst Park.
