Premier League Prop Bets

Arsenal vs. Newcastle

When looking at these props, it's always a good idea to balance implied probabilities against each other to generate value. That's where I've found the most success with these picks and it provides the rationale for this wager.

At DraftKings, you can get Arsenal at -1400 odds to score and Newcastle at -170 to score. With these prices, a parlay would pay out -143 odds, so getting this prop at -130 gives you approximately a 2.5% edge on pure implied probability.

Better yet, Arsenal has conceded 1.24 xGA/game this season and 17 goals total in 12 games. The Gunners don't have a reliable defense, and despite securing two consecutive league clean sheets before conceding four against Liverpool, those games included over 2.5 xGA from Arsenal.

It won't be as fortunate against a hungry Newcastle side that's desperate to escape its current position as the worst side in the English top flight.

Liverpool vs. Southampton

Though Southampton has been capable of causing problems in the past for Jürgen Klopp's men at Liverpool, I can't foresee that being the case here.

The Reds are on a different level going forward at the moment. And while Southampton has been efficient in defense over recent weeks, allowing just two goals in three games, the Saints have been dealing with the likes of Aston Villa, Watford and Norwich City. Not Liverpool.

This is a great way to get behind the Reds, as they've won both halves in all seven of their EPL wins up to this point. If you back that trend to continue, you can get the wager at a near 2-to-1 price.

For a squad that has scored at least two goals in all but one of their games across all competitions at Anfield this season, that's solid value.

Brighton's last league win came Sept. 19 against Leicester City, but if the the club is going to get back on track in the near future, this is a great opportunity.

The Seagulls have been generating scoring chances at a consistent clip of approximately 1.2 xG over their last few contests, which is in line with their 1.3 xG/game showing at home in league play this year.

Even more encouraging for Brighton is the fact it gets to face a Leeds United side conceding goals and chances on the road at a consistent rate. The Peacocks have yielded 11 goals away from home thus far in the EPL through six games, and averaging 1.56 xGA/game away from home.

Brighton has generated just three points in its last five matches, and a result is needed before the Seagulls drop down into the bottom half of the league. Look for them to use the home opportunity to take the initiative in the contest and score goals.
