Paris Saint-Germain is in celebration mode after clinching yet another Ligue 1 title, but the party doesn’t stop there — their sights are now fully set on the Champions League, the one trophy that has eluded them year after year.
Fresh off a 1-0 win over Angers that sealed the French title with six games to spare, PSG is also riding high from their thrilling penalty shootout win at Anfield, where they knocked out Liverpool — one of the tournament favorites.
Under Luis Enrique, the Parisians are on fire: since the start of 2025, they’ve played 23 matches, winning 21, drawing one, and losing just once. The message is clear: they’re not letting the Villans head back to Birmingham with an edge in this tie.
Aston Villa Prediction
On the other side of the field, we find the breakout team of this Champions League: Unai Emery’s Aston Villa. After an incredible 2023/24 Premier League season, the Spanish coach — defying all odds — led Aston Villa into the top eight teams in Europe.
But their success isn’t limited to the continental stage. Currently in the Premier League, the Villains sit in sixth place with 51 points, just two behind Chelsea, who hold the final qualifying spot for next season’s Champions League.
Led by the reliability of Emiliano Martínez, the pace of Leon Bailey, and the goal-scoring form of Ollie Watkins, Aston Villa will look to live up to their nickname and play the role of true villains — by crashing PSG’s party.
PSG vs. Aston Villa Pick
For this match, I don’t think Aston Villa can do much against PSG’s offensive power and the electric home crowd in Paris. While we know these high-pressure games are Emiliano Martínez’s favorites, I believe that even though he won’t be able to stop every shot, the Argentine will still be one of the standout players of the game.
My best bet for this match is Paris Saint-Germain to cover the spread.
