We have our first semifinals matchup of Euro 2024 as Spain and France will meet after winning a pair of hard-fought quarterfinals games. Spain emerged victorious with a late winner in the 119th minute over Germany while France downed Portugal on penalty kicks.
There are still four days to go before kickoff, but oddsmakers instilled Spain as an early favorite. They’re -128 at FanDuel to advance to the next round while France is +104. Additionally, Spain is +160 to win in regulation while France is +200 and a draw +190.
It perhaps shouldn't come as much of a surprise that a French regulation win has the highest odds of the three as they've yet to score a goal in open play. Their lone goals have come via an own goal or a penalty kick.
Spain’s aiming for it’s fourth Euro title, which would break a tie with Germany for the most all-time. They previously won in 1964, 2008 and 2012. They’re also aiming for their fifth Euro final after finishing as runner-up to France in 1984.
Meanwhile, France is looking for it’s first Euro championship since 2020. They also won it all in 1984 and would join Spain and Germany for most titles in history by winning it again this year. France last appeared in the title game in 2016 when they finished runner-up to Portugal, who they got revenge on Friday by eliminating them in the quarterfinals.
