USA have reached the Women's World Cup semifinal for the eighth straight time and are currently tied for most consecutive wins (10) and matches unbeaten (15) in tournament history.
In the group stage, USA crushed Thailand, 13-0, Chile, 3-0, and defeated Sweden, 2-0.
In the knockout round, USA eked by Spain, 2-1, and then conquered hosts France, 2-1. They've never lost a World Cup match when scoring first, winning 35 matches and drawing four.
They've also managed to score within the first 12 minutes in all five matches in this World Cup, which has put the pressure on their opponents.
Favorites have now won 37 of 46 matches through Friday including 7-of-10 in the knockout round.
England got here by winning Group D and then defeating Cameroon and Norway in the knockout stage. They're in the semifinal for the second straight World Cup but have never reached a final.
USA will have their hands full but still opened as odds-on -125 favorites to win in regulation. Most sportsbooks also list them as odds-on favorites to win the tournament as there's been lopsided action on USA futures for the last two months. The FanDuel Sportsbook in New Jersey has already payed out all Team USA Women's World Cup futures, totaling around $400,000.
While there may be some sharp money on England at some point, the majority of bettors will undoubtedly back USA no matter what the price is. Fortunately no players are suspended on either side for Tuesday's marquee matchup.
In the other semifinal matchup, Netherlands will face Sweden.
Teammates Alex Morgan and Megan Rapinoe are tied for most goals (5) in this year's tournament along with England's Ellen White and Australia's Sam Kerr. USA are now the odds-on favorites to win the Women's World Cup after entering the tournament as the +350 co-favorites.
