It wasn't the opening result that the United States were looking for on Monday afternoon, seeing as the USMNT drew 1-1 with Wales to kick off their World Cup campaign.

However, not all hope is lost for the US, and the odds reflect that.

Entering their match with Wales, the United States were +100 to advance out of Group B and into the knockout round. Despite Monday's result, that price fell — the USMNT now sits at -138 to advance over at bet365.

The "no" side to advance is listed at +100.

A win would have been vital to exiting the group, and there's no question that the USA would be heavily favored to escape the group if they didn't concede a late equalizer to Gareth Bale.

In terms of the rest of the group, England are -5000 to advance, Wales are +138, and Iran are +800.

The United States were a slight favorite at +140 on the three-way moneyline to defeat Wales prior to the match. Odds on a draw were +210 while Wales were +200.

England will be the next opponent for the USA, and the Three Lions head into the fixture with confidence. Not only was England one of the tournament favorites before the start of the event, but they demolished Iran 6-2 in their opener.

Initial odds have England as a significant favorite at -188, with the draw listed at +300 and the United States +500 on the moneyline.

The game will be played on Black Friday, November 25, at 2 p.m. ET.
