The French Open, the second Grand Slam of the 2019 tennis season, begins on Sunday, May 26 at Roland Garros in Paris, France.
Rafael Nadal, who has won a record 11 French Open titles, is the even-money (+100) favorite in Paris. Nadal, the No. 2 ranked player in the world, has won the last two La Coupe des Mousquetaires.
Last year Nadal dropped only a single set en route to his 11th title at Roland Garros, defeating Dominic Thiem in the final.
World No. 1 Novak Djokovic is the second betting choice at +225 (9-4). Djokovic, a 15-time Grand Slam titlist, has one French Open title to his name (2016). The 32-year-old Serbian won the season's first Grand Slam at the Australian Open.
Thiem, last year's finalist and one of the preeminent clay-court players in the world, is the third favorite at +550 (11-2). The 25-year-old Austrian is still searching for his first career Grand Slam.
There is a pretty big drop in price from Thiem to the fourth-favorite, Stefanos Tsitsipas, who is currently listed at 18-1. The young Greek phenom has never won a Grand Slam but reached the semi-finals of the 2018 Australian Open and is currently ranked No. 6 in the world.
Twenty-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer rounds out the top five at 20-1. Federer, who is currently ranked as the No. 3 player in the world, has only won one French Open title and it came 10 years ago in 2009.
