Jack Draper and Zizou Bergs will face off at Wimbledon in a battle of rising stars on the ATP tour.
Draper has made his presence felt during the ATP grass court season, reaching the semi-finals in Eastbourne last week.
Meanwhile, Bergs has been enjoying the grass as well, but mostly at the Challenger level.
This should be a thrilling match to watch with big serving and remarkable shot making, but where is the value in this match?
Let's dive in.
Bergs Stepping Onto The Big Stage
Bergs has earned a wild card en route to his first main draw Grand Slam appearance.
His play is highlighted by his domination on serve. Bergas has an 8-1 record on grass this year as he brought home the trophy from the Ilkley challenger.
Between Ilkley and his qualifying appearance at 's-Hertogenbosch, Bergs has boasted a 76% win rate on his first serve and a 53% clip behind his second.
Clearly he is enjoying the surface.
Bergs is 6-1 against lefties on the year. However, his one loss was to Draper himself in a tight 3 sets in the final of the Saint-Brieuc challenger.
Draper Solidifying Himself On Tour
Draper's results this year have shown he can hang with the best. From handing players including Fritz, Brooksby, and Schwartzman straight set defeats on grass, he has also given Rublev and Norrie mighty scares earlier this year.
His remarkable shot making is electric, firing off both wings and possessing a monster serve. The only part of his game that has been subpar is his movement, which has shown this grass court season.
On grass courts this year at the ATP level, Jack Draper is winning over 80% of points when he lands his first serve. This includes an ace rate above 14%.
Betting Value
I expect this match to be full of big serves and aggressive play from both players while on the attack.
Breaks should be hard to come by and with the energy that both young players will bring, and a straight sets victory for either side seems highly unlikely.
As these younger players fight to battle nerves on top of emotional highs and lows, I strongly expect to see momentum swings from set to set. This should lead to a fantastic match to watch, but more importantly an extended match for us to take advantage on with the over/under.
Although I believe Draper will come out of this match with a victory, the best value lies on the total.
