Wimbledon kicks off on Monday, meaning we've got a plethora of tennis matches to bet on throughout the day for the next two weeks.
With so many matches to get things going, it's a little tough to pick out just a couple of spots, but I've got two in mind here which should bring us some returns as the day wears on at the All England Club.
Here are my expert Wimbledon betting picks for Altmaier – Fery and Virtanen – Purcell.

Expert Wimbledon Betting Picks
Daniel Altmaier (-105) vs Arthur Fery (-115)
8 a.m. ET
I've been watching young Brit Arthur Fery very closely over the past eight or so months, waiting for the right time to pounce on him in a big match. Despite the large gap in experience between he and German Daniel Altmaier, I think the time is now.
Fery has an incredibly low center of gravity and a strong lower half which helps him hit the ball far harder than you'd expect for someone who stands at 5-foot-8. He really broke onto the scene last year when he went 39-15 across all levels at the age of 20, making three impressive runs at the Challenger level in succession before struggling a bit after entering more Challenger events this season.
I think the talent is undeniable, however, and despite a lack of form I like Fery to find it here in front of his home fans. He gave Daniil Medvedev a great fight in his Wimbledon debut last year, falling 7-6, 6-4, 6-3 in the first round, and now he'll have a considerably easier matchup here against Altmaier.
The 25-year-old has collected some wins at the Grand Slam level over the last few seasons, but he stands at just 7-13 on the grass for his career and has really been at his most dangerous on the clay despite the big serve and backhand he flashes.
Altmaier has spent the last few weeks continuing to stack wins on the clay, presumptively due to his lack of confidence in doing much here at Wimbledon. This will be his first grass-court match of the season and his first match off of clay since late March.
Fery's got more talent, a cleaner game and the benefit of playing in front of what should be an overwhelmingly supportive crowd. He'll surely win plenty of matches at this tournament over the next five or six years, so who's to say that won't start here?
Pick: Fery ML (-115 via DraftKings)
Otto Virtanen (+125) vs Max Purcell (-160)
12 p.m. ET
I don't know what it is about Otto Virtanen, but I really like him. He's been a menace on indoor hard courts over the last couple of seasons and should have a great game for grass given his big serve and unwillingness to extend rallies, and the quicker hard courts you find indoors are all the proof you need that it's an accurate assessment.
Yes, Virtanen has done the bulk of his winning at the lower levels of the game, but he's just 23 and hasn't had many opportunities yet in main draws. If you'll recall, he came through qualifying at least year's US Open to nearly knock out Tomas Martin Etcheverry and this year he's qualified yet for another slam draw with a few gutsy wins.
I like the potential that the Fin has, so much so that I'll take him to defeat a player I've cheer-leaded for the last few years in Max Purcell.
The Aussie has played plenty of grass-court tennis in his career and should have an exceptional game for this surface to his wonderful volleying and constant slicing of the ball. He's fresh off a long run to the Eastbourne final, to boot. With that said, though, he's crumbled in the biggest matches he's played and is 0-2 in two trips here to the All England Club with just two wins in nine Grand Slam appearances.
Virtanen should avenge his defeat to Etcheverry the last time he made a Grand Slam draw with an upset win here over an in-form Purcell, riding his serve and powerful groundstrokes to victory.
Pick: Virtanen ML (+125)
