Did you place a football parlay on NFL Sunday this past weekend? Perhaps you tried your luck with a college football combination wager with hopes of returning far more than you put in? Well, it turns out that you may want to shift your attention over to tennis. Well, let me explain.
Over the weekend, a DraftKings bettor placed a $28.60 bet on a parlay that featured 10 legs, all across a slew of tennis matches. His return? $486,021.92.
A tennis bettor at @DKSportsbook bet $28.60 on this 10-match parlay, which included six set predictions and six matches from tournament qualifiers in Stockholm and Tokyo.

The matches came from a slew of events, including title matches on the WTA Tour and qualifying matches from the ATP Tour. Qualifying matches are played for a select number of spots in the main draw of a tournament, as players look to play their way into events.
This wasn't just your ordinary tennis parlay, either. This bettor wasn't just picking winners, but rather they successfully navigated the exact set score of a number of a matches.
For example, the bettor included Jack Draper to win 2 sets to 0 at -170, but that was one of the shortest selections on the list. They nailed the set score of all three WTA finals on the day, including Qinwen Zheng to win 2 sets to 1 over Barbora Krejcikova in the Zhengzhou final.
It's important to remember that while the wager and return is nothing short of remarkable, you should never expect to win a bet like this. This was a once in a lifetime — perhaps once in two lifetimes — type of wager.
Parlays also have an inherent advantage for the sportsbook, meaning the fair odds of the bet are almost always greater than what you are getting as a bettor. For more responsible gaming information, you can check out our responsible gaming hub.
