The second round of Wimbledon 2024 is halfway finished.
There haven't been too many upsets, but the drama is just starting.
The biggest storyline of Wednesday was Emma Raducanu's upset over Elise Mertens. The hometown favorite dominated Mertens on her way to a 6-2, 6-1 victory over the world's No. 33 ranked player. It will be Raducanu's first trip to the third round in a Grand Slam since she won the U.S. Open in 2021. The London native has shot up to +1000 at DraftKings to win the title.
On the men's side, the world No. 1 Jannik Sinner needed four sets and five tie-break wins to defeat fellow countrymen Matteo Berrettini. Sinner is tied with Carlos Alcaraz as the favorite to win Wimbledon at +190 odds at DraftKings. Alcaraz has cruised through his first two matches, despite a couple of early scares.
