Wimbledon Final Odds: Djokovic Gets Public Love vs. Alcaraz

Recent movement suggests that betting markets consider Novak Djokovic has an improved shot at defeating reigning Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz in Sunday’s rematch.

On Saturday, Djokovic’s odds to win the Wimbledon final were as high as +135 at DraftKings. As of Saturday evening, they dropped to +105. Alcaraz initially opened as the favorite at -160 to win his second straight Wimbledon. DraftKings now puts those odds at -135.

Djokovic, 37, will have a shot at winning his 24th career major despite recently undergoing surgery on his torn right meniscus. The Serb, currently the world No. 2, has worn a brace around his knee throughout the tournament.

Despite his ailment, Djokovic has not dropped a set since the third round of the tournament and, as Action Network’s Kenny Ducey notes, he has claimed nearly 80% of his net points across his last three matches.

Alcaraz, 21, defeated Djokovic — 1-6, 7-6, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 — in last year’s Wimbledon final to claim his second career major and first Wimbledon title.

“He's deservedly one of the greatest 21-year-olds we've ever seen in this sport,” Djokovic said of Alcaraz ahead of Sunday’s match. “We're going to see a lot of him for sure in the future, no doubt. He's going to win many more Grand Slams."

Alcaraz is currently the world No. 3. The Spaniard is coming off a victory over No. 5 Daniil Medvedev in the semifinals. Djokovic defeated No. 25 Lorenzo Musetti in straight sets to reach the final.

Djokovic and Alcaraz have met five previous times. Djokovic currently leads the head-to-head series, 3-2, and most recently played each other in the semifinals of the 2023 ATP Finals in Turin last November. Djokovic won the match (which was played on an indoor hardcourt), 6-3, 6-2.
