The WNBA season is almost here with the preseason currently underway. The WNBA championship is the ultimate prize and the Las Vegas Aces and New York Liberty currently have the inside track to compete for the title entering the season. However, the Commissioner's Cup offers every team some incentive with an in-season tournament that has a cash prize pool for the players.
Here's a look at where each team stands in the Commissioner's Cup odds before the start of the season.

It should come as no surprise that the two teams expected to be neck-and-neck all season are at the top of the odds board here.
The Aces and Liberty, the two favorites to win the WNBA title, also have almost identical odds to win the Cup this season. Much like the title odds, the drop-off is stark from the top-two to No. 3. The Mystics are 10-1 ahead of the season with the Mercury just behind on the board at 22-1.
How Does the Commissioner's Cup Work?
The Commissioner's Cup is an in-season tournament that runs through the first half of the season that counts certain games of the regular season as Cup play games. The teams with the best record in Cup play in each conference compete in the WNBA Commissioner's Cup Championship for a shot at a prize pool and donations to their charitable organizations of choice.
The team with the best record in Cup play will host the 2023 Commissioner's Cup championship game with a head-to-head record being the first tiebreaker for any scenario where two teams are tied.
Who Has Won the Commissioner's Cup?
In the inaugural Commissioner's Cup during the 2021 season, the Storm beat the Sun 79-57 in the championship game. Last season, the Aces beat the Sky 93-83 in the championship game after both teams were an impressive 9-1 in Cup play.
