Caitlin Clark was selected No. 1 overall by the Indiana Fever in Monday's WNBA Draft, but before the long-known selection was made, sportsbooks got ahead of the game with some Clark-specific props entering the 2024 WNBA regular season.
At FanDuel, several props were posted under a special "Caitlin Clark" header in their WNBA section. Among the props bettors can peruse are whether she will lead the Fever in scoring, break the WNBA single-game scoring record (54) and more.
The Fever, as you might expect, earned the right to draft Clark via being the worst team in the WNBA last season. They finished 13-27 and missed the postseason for the seventh-consecutive season. This is also the second-straight year the Fever drafted No. 1 overall. They'll now pair Clark with reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year Aliyah Boston, who they drafted No. 1 overall last season. Boston averaged 14.5 points and 8.4 rebounds per game in her rookie season.
The Fever's leading scorer a season ago was Kelsey Mitchell, who the team drafted No. 2 overall in 2018 out of Ohio State. Mitchell, a 5-foot-8 point guard, averaged 18.2 points per game a season ago and made her first WNBA All-Star Game.
The Indiana Fever begin their 2024 regular season on May 14 on the road against the Connecticut Sun. Clark's first home game with the Fever will come two days later, on May 16, when the Fever host the New York Liberty at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
So, with all these prop options on the table, how should you bet? Action Network WNBA analysts Michael Arinze and Bryan Fonseca break down their thoughts on a few.

Caitlin Clark To Lead Indiana Fever in Scoring (-280)
Michael Arinze: There are too many unknowns for Clark to accomplish this feat, and at this price, sportsbooks are asking bettors to pay a heavy premium.
Kelsey Mitchell led the Fever with 18.2 points per game last season, and while Clark’s impact could be comparable to some of the best rookie campaigns by WNBA players, the value is not there.
Caitlin Clark To Average 22+ Points Per Game In 2024 WNBA Regular Season (-135)
Michael Arinze: I would love to be able to bet the “No” on this prop, considering that no WNBA rookie has ever averaged 22 points per game.
Minnesota’s Seimone Augustus came the closest in 2006 when she averaged 21.9 points. A’ja Wilson (20.7) was the second rookie to average 20 or more points in WNBA history.
The sportsbooks are aware that the historical numbers for rookies favor them here, so bettors would be wise to avoid this prop.
Bryan Fonseca: Three players did this in 2023: Jewell Loyd, Breanna Stewart and A'ja Wilson.
So, basically, the best two players in the world and a certified bucket who was playing on an island.
No one did this in 2022, only Tina Charles in 2021, only Arike Ogunbowale in 2020, no one in 2019, only Liz Cambage in 2018, etc. etc.
Not only does this rarely happen year to year, you occasionally get years where it doesn't. Now, we're probably venturing into an era where three, four, five players getting 22 a game is the norm — and Clark may be one.
But it's a big ask for a rookie. This isn't a play for me.
Caitlin Clark To Record 1+ Made Three In Every 2024 WNBA Regular Season Game (Must Play 28+ Regular Season Games) (+340)
Bryan Fonseca: Sabrina Ionescu, who led the league with 128 3-pointers last season, nearly did this last season. She went 0-for just twice, and only four times in 2022. Arike Ogunbowale, who made 117 threes, similarly missed this mark because of two games and that's it. Jewell Loyd? Same deal — two games short of making a three in every game despite 115 makes.
Those were the top three in the league in 3-point field goal conversations, and all nearly got there. Fourth? Kelsey Mitchell — Clark's new teammate. Want to guess how many games shy she was of this? Yup, you guessed it: Two!
It's +340, so this sniffs "why not?" territory, but this is only viable if she commands serious volume from day one — and converts a high percentage. The best shooters don't typically do this over the course of a season, but at +340, I don't mind it.
And for Clark, of the 139 games she played in college, she made at least one three in all but one. I’d lean pass, but if I change my mind – which I may depending on pre-season and any transactions leading up to the season – the play would be small.
Caitlin Clark To Record 10+ Made Threes In Any 2024 WNBA Regular Season Game (+2600)
Bryan Fonseca: The WNBA record is nine. Kelsey Mitchell got this in 2019 and Jewell Loyd tied it last season.
Many others, including Sabrina Ionescu, Loyd and Diana Taurasi have gotten to eight. No one's hit 10.
Clark never got more than nine in college, though she did it four times. So you're betting on something we haven't seen from her or in the WNBA.
That explains the +2600 price, though that still isn't enough for me bet this, unless it's like $1 — winning this bet could get you a decent burger and a lemonade, if that's the case.
