On Sunday, we will have a full six-game WNBA slate featuring several high-profile matchups, however, no game is expected to be as high-octane as the inevitable scoring explosion between the Dallas Wings (9-29) and Indiana Fever (19-19) this afternoon.
The 2024 regular season ends in less than one week, with the first day of the WNBA Playoffs following shortly after on September 22. With that in mind, can Caitlin Clark and company focus on moving their momentum forward or fall subject to “looking ahead” to the postseason?

Andrew Norton's Wings vs Fever Preview
Dallas Wings: Road Struggles
Surprisingly, the Dallas Wings competed hard against Seattle in their last game, keeping the final score to a one-possession deficit despite already being eliminated from the postseason.
That respectable effort came just one game after losing by 33 points to the Liberty on their floor.
So, which Wings team will we get on Sunday? The defeated, low-energy (particularly on the defensive end of the floor) Wings, or the resilient, diving-for-loose-balls Wings?
Dallas has lost seven of its past eight road games by double-digits, allowing 95 points on just shy of 50% shooting from the floor and 37% from behind the arc to opponents in that stretch.
Simply put, even with Satou Sabally and Arike Ogunbowale healthy and available, this team has been atrocious on the road, particularly on the defensive end of the floor.
Indiana Fever: Need Caitlin Clark to Get Going
From the time the regular season resumed (post-All-Star break) until the team’s loss to Minnesota last week, the Indiana Fever were one of the hottest teams in the WNBA, winning seven of their eight games in that stretch.
During that dominant streak, the Fever posted the most points per game (91.4) in the league while shooting close to 47% from the floor (second in FG%) and 40% from 3-point land (first in 3P%).
Unfortunately, the team’s momentum has since reached a screeching halt, as they have dropped three of their past four games.
Indiana’s losses were not bad by any stretch of the imagination, as it dropped games to Minnesota and Las Vegas (twice); however, Clark’s shooting efficiency has been less-than-ideal, as she knocked down merely 34% of her field goal attempts and 29% of her 3-point attempts in those three games.
For the Fever to be firing on all cylinders entering the postseason, they need to get Clark going in this game against a susceptible Dallas defense.
Wings vs. Fever: Bet on Indiana
Betting Pick & Prediction
Despite an eyebrow-raising effort against the Storm, there is no chance I can back this Wings team on the road.
Dallas has been abysmal on the road, winning merely 2-of-18 games away from home this season.
With just two regular-season games left and no shot at the postseason, expect the Wings to be blown out today, especially with the Fever hoping to regain form as they enter the playoffs.
Maybe even consider playing some alternate lines on the spread in the double-digit range to get some plus-money value on the Fever.
