The Minnesota Lynx lost in Game 1 at home, so the conventional wisdom rebound bet is obvious. Many may think, hey, take them to beat the Connecticut Sun in Game 2, which would also be at home, in a series many of us think could go all five games.

Well … we'll see about that.

Why The Minnesota Lynx Can Cover In Game 2

Legitimately, Game 1 could've easily gone either way.

The Sun punched early, leading 23-16 after one, and held on for a 42-38 halftime lead before the Lynx overtook Connecticut, carrying a 62-57 lead into the fourth.

And then the Sun grinded their way to a win, allowing eight fourth quarter points, showing once again that their defense travels — and that it does so better than anyone in the league.

The Lynx have a lot to overcome in Game 2 in terms of consistently finding their offense, despite the fact the game script should tilt in their direction in a bounce back win to tie this 1-1.

In Game 1, the Lynx didn't cover for either half or the game. Napeesha Collier was held to under 23.5 points, finishing with 19 on 7-of-16 shooting, and got nearly 20 points due to some help from a spotless 5-for-5 on free throws.

She also had nine boards and four assists.

Badly needing some secondary offense, Bridget Carleton came through for 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting, including three made threes. And Kayla McBride went slightly under her 13.5 points prop, finishing with 12 points on 5-of-11 shooting and only 1-of-5 from 3.

The Lynx only went seven deep, and despite that, nobody else reached double figures as the team shot 41.5 percent from the field and 5-for-20 from three for 25 percent.

On their watch, the Sun blistered them for 40 percent from 3, their second time in three playoff games hitting at least this mark, making 9-for-22 and were able to survive the Lynx at home despite only generating three free throw attempts for the entire game.

How to Bet the Lynx vs. the Sun in Game 2

So, back to that conventional wisdom — the Lynx are -5 for the game. They shot 20 percent from 3, half as efficient as the Sun did, and the Sun won despite only getting three free throw attempts. Maybe they get more, but will that be in the face of shooting crashing down to earth? They shot 50 percent from three against the Indiana Fever in Game 1 and dropped down to 26 percent in Game 2.

Ultimately, I think the Lynx should get this done, but I like them even more to get off to a better start than that underwhelming first quarter last time out.

I'll take them to cover -2.5 in the first half at -115. I may pair this with a McBride over, because that secondary scoring will be important for a true bounce back Lynx effort, but if that becomes a play, I'll log it in the Action App before tip-off.

Pick: Lynx 1H (-115 at bet365)
