The Connecticut Sun will hold their annual Camp Day on Wednesday against the New York Liberty, as local kids head to Uncasville to experience a WNBA game. While it’s worth noting that every organization in the W must host at least one Camp Day, Connecticut seems to stand out from the other teams.

Connecticut is already one of the best defensive teams in the league, ranking second in efficiency with 93.6 points allowed per 100 possessions.

The Sun can be pretty stingy on the perimeter. They're allowing the fewest 3-point attempts (19.9) and field goals (6.1) per game.

Perimeter shooting has been one of the Liberty’s strengths this season, ranking first in 3-point field goals (30.6) and field goals (10.4).

In addition to facing a quality Connecticut perimeter defense, New York must also endure an early tip-off at 11 a.m. ET. While the kids may be full of energy at that time, it’s a bit early for professional basketball players to turn it up.

Thus, this game offers a tremendous situational spot to back a low-scoring contest.

According to our Action Labs database, the total is 8-3 to the under in games involving Connecticut with a start time between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. ET. When the opening total comes in at 157.5 or higher, the under improves to 6-1.

After shopping around, that opening number is still available at BetMGM and Caesars Sportsbook.

Pick: Under 157.5

Aces vs. Storm

You didn't read that wrong. The Aces are favorites on Wednesday, but I want to be on the Seattle side of things — on -6, not +6.

This line has me befuddled.

It opened at Aces -3.5, a number I thought was well off but didn't want any part of. I make this a pick'em, considering the Storm own a net rating of around +5.5 and have the best home net rating in the league, while the Aces look like they did post-Candace Parker last season.

Storm +3.5 was intriguing, but I didn't want it at a gut level even though I was already thinking of a way to back Seattle. Then the market moved even further toward the Aces, and a Seattle alt line started to get really interesting.

The Storm have played 21 games this season, and 19 of those have been decided by eight points or more. Their style has not lent itself to close games, and to be honest, I don't really want to be on the Seattle side of things if this is close.

You'd be hard-pressed to find a greater gap in close-game experience than the Storm and Aces. However, I could very much see this Seattle team beating Vegas by a big margin, so that's the way I'll attack this game on Wednesday.

Pick: Storm -6 (+370)

Wings vs. Mercury

Arike Ogunbowale Over 22.5 Points

By Joe Dellera

Arike Ogunbowale should once again find some success scoring the basketball against the Phoenix Mercury.

She's averaging 23.1 points per game on the season and has exceeded this line in 57% of games.

Looking at this direct matchup, though, she has averaged a whopping 28.1 PPG against the Mercury over the past few seasons while exceeding 22.5 points in nine of those 10 head-to-head matchups. That includes a 2-for-2 mark this season with 25 and 26 points.

The Mercury play at the fourth-fastest pace in the league and the Wings play at the third-fastest, so there will be plenty of opportunities and possessions for Ogunbowale to get to the hoop.

Pick: Arike Ogunbowale Over 22.5 Points
