Minnesota Lynx

The Minnesota Lynx had a resurgent 2024 season.

They earned the No. 2 seed in the WNBA Playoffs after finishing the regular season with a 30-10 record. It was the first season with a record above .500 since 2021. Napheesa Collier is the star of the show for the Lynx. The 2024 Defensive Player of the Year and MVP runner up led the way in Minnesota with 20.8 points per game and 9.7 rebounds per game.

The Lynx got revenge on the Connecticut Sun in the semifinal after the Sun knocked them out of the playoffs last season.

The Lynx are led by their guard play as they led the league in assists per game and were second in steals per game.

New York Liberty

The New York Liberty are back in the WNBA Finals for the second straight year.

This time, they got revenge on the Las Vegas Aces in the semifinal after losing to the Aces in the Finals last season.

Led by Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu and Jonquel Jones, the Liberty secured the No. 1 seed in the WNBA Playoffs with the best record in the league. The Liberty went 32-8 in the regular season.

The Liberty swept the Atlanta Dream in the first round in two games and then needed four games to take down the Las Vegas Aces.

Stewart led the team with 20.8 points per game during the regular season. Ionescu was right behind with 18.2 points per game and Jones at 14.2 points per game. The Liberty have their own big three.
