Finally, it’s Friday. And we are gifted a four-game slate, including the Minnesota Lynx at Indiana Fever and Las Vegas Aces at Connecticut Sun. It doesn’t get much better than this.

Plenty of players take the floor on Friday night, but two player props stick out to us, including the unders on Caitlin Clark and Alyssa Thomas’s points. Keep reading below for our analysis of these two WNBA player prop picks!

Can we ever get enough of Caitlin Clark? The answer to that question is a resounding “No.”

Tonight, Clark and the Indiana Fever take on the Minnesota Lynx, one of the W’s best defenses this season.

The Lynx have the third-lowest (best) defensive rating, barely being edged out by the New York Liberty and Connecticut Sun; they also rank first in opponent field goal percentage and opponent 3-point percentage.

In two games against Minnesota, Clark has been relatively inefficient, shooting just 37.1% from the floor and 26.3% from deep in those matchups. The Lynx have done a terrific job contesting every shot she takes and throwing different looks at her throughout the game to change things up.

Despite Clark’s red-hot nine-game stretch, in which she has averaged nearly 25 points per game on a 48/37/91 shooting split, we still have to fade her in this spot. This should be a pass-first game for Clark.

Since losing an embarrassing road game to Dallas, allowing 93 points to the now-nine-win Wings, the Las Vegas Aces have stepped up on the defensive end of the floor.

Las Vegas has held its past three opponents to sub-80 totals, including the Sky (71), Dream (72), and Mercury (79).

During that three-game stretch, Las Vegas has ranked first in defensive rating, first in opponent points off of turnovers, second in opponent points per game, third in opponent field goal percentage, and fourth in defensive rebounding percentage.

Needless to say, the loss against Dallas was a wake-up call, especially with the 2024 playoffs around the corner.

So, what does this all mean? In this case, it means we will be fading Alyssa Thomas’s points.

Thomas is known for her all-around play. She can hit the glass, make correct and accurate passes to open teammates, and lock down opponents’ best players.

However, she is not known as much for her scoring. Thomas has averaged just 10.7 points per game this season, but recently, it has been even lower.

In fact, she has failed to eclipse this line in four of his past five games, and her volume in those games has been meager, shooting just six times per game in that stretch.

Thomas also had a six-point outing in her only game against Las Vegas earlier this season, making just two of her six field goal attempts. This is undoubtedly a spot to fade her if there ever was one.
