We're not gonna talk about Tuesday.
We have better plays today anyway.
Today, we're going up to three, with a couple of point totals and an assist over that's been near automatic lately.
Not quite a full-fledged "trap or "trend" type of day, but we're riding some recent momentum with a couple of the players chosen to star in tonight's props.
Here's what we have for Friday.
WNBA Player Props & Picks
Sun vs.
Fever
DeWanna Bonner Over 19.5 Points (-115)
Spread | Sun -7.5 |
Time | TV | 7 p.m. ET | ION |
Best Line | FanDuel |
At just over 19 points per game, DeWanna Bonner is enjoying her best scoring output since the 2020 season. She's put forth some exceptional performances mixed with occasional duds, but, league-wide, it's been that kind of season.
Bonner's prop is listed at either 18.5 points or 19.5 points depending on where you look.
The issue is, Bonner is -130 at over 18.5 points, and -115 at over 19.5 points. Bonner only scored 15 points in her latest showing, but prior to that, she was on a scoring tear that saw her net 20 or more points in five of seven games and 19 or more in six of seven. That was a stretch that saw her go off for multiple 30-point games.
For me, I have enough of a season-long sample to take Bonner, comfortably, at over 19.5 points, and I'm willing to live with the results. I like her at essentially 20-plus points at close to even money vs. swallowing the -130 for 18.5.
If all books had this listed at over 18.5, I'd just take it, but we're at slightly juicier odds for one more point, for someone with 11 20-point games in the last two months.
Additionally, she'll face one of the league's least-resistant defenses in the Fever.
Pick: DeWanna Bonner Over 19.5 Points (-115)
Liberty vs.
Lynx
Sabrina Ionescu Over 5.5 Assists (-120)
Spread | Liberty -9.5 |
Time | TV | 8 p.m. ET | ION |
Best Line | DraftKings |
After a six-game run of over 5.5 assists for Sabrina Ionescu, she's fallen short of this over in back-to-back efforts.
Now is a good time to buy in, specifically on DraftKings. This same prop is listed at -138 on FanDuel and -141 at BetRivers. Maybe DK adjusts, but until they do, I'm all over this.
Ionescu had three and five assists against the Sparks in her last two outings, but sat at six or more in the six previous outings and in eight of nine, falling short of six just once.
Even in a recent outing against the Lynx — where the Oregon alum exploded for 31 points on season-high 21 field goal attempts — she dished out seven assists.
Pick: Sabrina Ionescu Over 5.5 Assists (-120)
Sparks vs.
Mystics
Nneka Ogwumike Over 18.5 Points (-113)
Spread | Mystics -3.5 |
Time | TV | 7 p.m. ET | ION |
Best Line | FanDuel |
This over/under is also listed at 19.5 points, but the value isn't good enough to buy it, as of this writing. DraftKings has Ogwumike's over/under set at 19.5, but it's only at -105.
Plus odds? I might buy, but for now, I'm content with about even money at over 18.5, especially with the rhythm the eight-time All-Star has established this season — and of late.
Ogwumike is averaging 19.9 points per game this season, with 19 or more points in 18 of 25 contests. She's only gone under 18.5 points twice since June 30, but has had enough exactly 19-point performances — two (and four this season) — to allow me to keep this at over 18.5 points, for now.
The Stanford alum hasn't seen the Mystics' defense, but she's gotten 19 or more against literally every other remaining team in the league — all 10 of them. The last team on the hit list, hopefully for the sake of this prop, are the Mystics.
