It’s a relatively tame day in the WNBA, as the Las Vegas Aces battling the Dallas Wings is the sole game. Las Vegas sits fourth in the standings, while Dallas' less-than-stellar 7-22 record places it 11th.

But with just one game, that means we can focus on props for Aces vs Wings! Check out my bestWNBA player props for this Tuesday, August 27 matchup.

Best WNBA Player Props for Aces vs Wings

  • Jackie Young over 22.5 points+assists (+100)
  • A’ja Wilson First Field Goal (+340)

The Wings, without question, own the worst defense in the WNBA. They're last in defensive rating by a decent margin and have been especially awful recently.

Over their past 15 games, Dallas has allowed an absurd 115.7 points per 100 possessions. To put that into perspective, that’s about seven points worse than next-to-last during that span.

Satou Sabally’s return was expected to patch some holes, but it hasn't done much for Dallas from a defensive perspective. Opponents are still obliterating the Wings inside the paint and scoring at will.

Pick-and-rolls are especially deadly against the Wings, as they allow the second-largest points per possession to both ball-handlers and rollers, per Synergy Sports.

Meanwhile, Dallas also surrenders the most transition possessions per game and struggles to fix the leak once the outlet pass is made. This matchup will feature plenty of running, with both teams sitting top-three in pace.

As Hercule Poirot would say, "Who stands to benefit?" Aces guard Jackie Young certainly has a strong case.

First, her scoring is expected to be fruitful. She averages the second-most paint attempts per game for Las Vegas, and it’s difficult to envision Dallas’ guards containing her handle.

Look for Young to create separation with ease and secure quality looks. Considering that the former first overall pick ranks in the 91st percentile for points per shot on dribble jumpers, it should be a feast.

Second, Young’s ability to control transition possessions and effectively orchestrate pick-and-rolls bodes well for her playmaking productivity. Las Vegas leads the league in field goal percentage, so her teammates can change potential assists into actual assists.

Young has notched 23 and 26 points+assists across two matchups versus Dallas this season. I expect her to once again hit the over on this line, and I recommend playing it down to -120 odds.

Pick: Jackie Young Over 22.5 Points+Assists (+100)

Las Vegas is slightly favored to win the tip-off, which means it’s a bit more likely that it gets the first shot of the game.

As stated above, Dallas’ interior defense is incredibly flimsy. A’ja Wilson holds the crown for best scorer in the WNBA, so it may be an utter bloodbath.

She's also taken Las Vegas’ first shot of the game in 31% of her starts, which ranks second-best on the team behind only Kelsey Plum.

Finally, Wilson scored the first basket in one-of-two games against Dallas this season.

I would play this line down to +300 odds.

Pick: A’ja Wilson First Field Goal (+340)
